Luke Cafferty — the blue-collar running back who transfers to the East Dillon Lions and dates Becky — anchored the show's last act. Matt Lauria played him with quiet decency.

He led DirecTV's MMA drama Kingdom, then played Josh Folsom on CSI: Vegas (2021–2024) and recurred on Prime Video's Outer Range. In 2025 he joined CBS's Sheriff Country as series regular Nathan Boone.
